Brothers Helping Brothers

The severe storms that swept through our area last month left a trail of destruction in their wake. Many homes suffered damage, countless trees were uprooted, and communities throughout the region faced the difficult task of cleaning up after nature's fury.

Among those affected was our own Worshipful Brother Todd Carpenter, whose property sustained significant damage from fallen trees. Large trunks and debris covered portions of the property, creating a daunting cleanup effort that could not easily be handled alone.

True to the principles of our Craft, the Brethren of Porter Lodge quickly answered the call. On Sunday, June 14, Brothers gathered with chainsaws, trailers, work gloves, and other tools, meeting at Brother Todd's home to lend a helping hand. Working side by side, they cut fallen trees, cleared debris, hauled away branches, and helped restore order to the property.

What could have been an overwhelming burden for one Brother became a manageable task through the combined efforts of many. More importantly, the day served as a powerful reminder that Freemasonry is far more than meetings and rituals—it is a living expression of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

The willingness of these Brothers to give their time, labor, and support exemplifies the very best of our fraternity. Their actions demonstrated that when a Brother is in need, he is never alone. Porter Lodge can take great pride in the example set that day, as Brothers came together not because they were asked to, but because they cared.

To all who participated, thank you for showing what it truly means to be a Mason. Your efforts made a meaningful difference and reflected the enduring spirit of our Brotherhood.
